What is K-Fest?

Keweenawesomefest is a celebration of local music and the community of the Keweenaw Peninsula located in Michigan’s snowy Upper Peninsula.

Presented annually by Michigan Tech’s own College Radio Station WMTU, and in collaboration with other University student orgs, K-Fest allows local artists to experience a larger venue and increased crowd size while bringing in artists that would not normally come to the Houghton area. As a low-cost event K-Fest caters to the entire community for a weekend of fun and entertainment for friends and family alike.

Lobby doors opens at 5:00pm, house opens at 5:30pm.

Pre-sale tickets will also be offered by the Rozsa Center ticketing office leading up to the festival!

    Brookie, formed in 2025 in Hancock, MI, serves up northern country treats topped with psychedelic harmony. We hope you’re hungry for groovy bass lines, flavorful guitar riffs, and all you can eat synth melodies.

    Brought together by camaraderie and a kaleidoscopic vision to create, Willowby was created by a group of musicians in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The group offers a relaxed sound, with indie, classic rock, and a northwoods influence, creating a truly unique tone.

    From the frozen tundra of Green Bay, Wisconsin, TUK is a powerhouse original rock band that has been carving out their spot in the local scene since their formation. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of musical influences, including the intensity of Metallica, the progressive elements of Gojira, and the anthemic spirit of Queen, TUK delivers a unique and dynamic sound that demands your utmost attention.

    The Go Rounds are a strange phenomenon. A blue-collar band with true upper-echelon accolades. A cultural staple in their home range, but still yet to be consistenly tracked by the larger limelight. After all, they’re a band that frequently co-billed with Billy Strings and Vulfpeck, a band who’s headlined the Mazunte International Jazz festival, and a band whose recordings have featured in various major formats such as Warren Miller’s “Here, There and Everywhere”, and as cue music for NPR.
